Ged Quinn’s paintings combine landscapes in the vein of Claude Lorrain with fragments of history, art history, and mythology. The works are awe-inspiring in their combination of painterly skills and provocative conceptual strains. In Quinn’s work, sublime backgrounds meet broken-down foregrounds, and at all turns utopian ideals are acknowledged and critiqued. Death, deceit, and decay are also dragged into the frame.

Every year, young pianists from all over the world come to Fort Worth to participate in what has become one of the most esteemed summer programs for tomorrow's concert pianists. In 2012, the PianoTexas International Academy & Festival will focus on the music of Franz Schubert and Claude Debussy, whose 150th anniversary is celebrated throughout the world. The Distinguished Artists Series will feature internationally famed guest artists in 8 recitals, presenting many of Schubert's and Debussy's works.

Lucian Freud Portraits, organized by the National Portrait Gallery, London, in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, will consist of approximately 90 works, dating between 1943 and 2011. Fort Worth will be the only U.S. venue.

Witness a living embodiment of the concepts behind portraiture and figurative art in a “happening” series of miniature dances and scenes designed to be performed in silence. CD/FW company members will explore the idea of the very act of creating a portrait or modeling for one. Drawing ideas from art history, photography, and personal histories, the dancers will bring their personal interpretations to this long-standing tradition of the “portrait” as a form of human record-keeping and storytelling through art.
