Learn with local artists as they lead informal basic drawing classes in the galleries. This free class is open to adults at all skill levels—just bring a sketchbook and pencils. Registration is not required, but participants should sign in at the information desk. 2-3:30 pm

Docents are available to lead tours of the Modern’s building, designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando. Group tours can accommodate 10 to 60 people and last approximately one hour; these tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the requested date. A public architecture tour is offered on the first Saturday of each month at 11 am.

Glenn Kaino’s work carefully balances formal and conceptual concerns as the artist combines an often unexpected hybrid of materials in order to best communicate an idea, history, or system that might be less effective with traditional art media. For his FOCUS exhibition, Kaino has created a new body of work with the overarching themes of time and space colonization. The presentation includes pin drawings, an animatronic installation that responds to viewers, and a frozen sculptural portrait of the moon.
