Oct 16, 2015

Friday 6 and 8 pm; Saturday 5 pm; Sunday noon, 2 pm, and 4 pm

“François Ozon and the late Ruth Rendell is a great match of sensibilities: it promises the French director's winking subversion, wedded to the late crime writer's slippery command of psychological twists.” Tim Robey, The Telegraph. A young woman makes a surprising discovery about the husband of her late best friend in the newest psychosexual comedy/drama from French director François Ozon.

108 minutes; R; French with English subtitles

The aim of the Slow Art movement is to break with the often frenetic pace of modern life to simply enjoy works of art in a deliberate and unhurried fashion. Slow Art at the Modern invests in this pause with a 30-minute spotlight tour focusing on one work of art. Led by a Modern docent the third Friday of each month, Slow Art at the Modern begins at 5:30 pm.

“A more modest and perhaps more fruitful approach might be to consider the fragments of memory in terms of geography. In every life we would find continents, islands, deserts, swamps, overpopulated territories and terrae incognitae. We could draw the map of such a memory and extract images from it with greater ease (and truthfulness) than from tales and legends.
