This special program is designed for people with memory loss and their caregivers. Participants experience works of art at the Modern through intimate conversations with docents and thoughtful projects designed by the Museum’s education staff. Two sessions are offered on select Wednesdays, with space for 20 participants at both 10 am and 2 pm. This free program includes admission to the galleries and all materials.

Incorporating Scandinavian sound artist Leif Inge's mind-bending 9 Beet Stretch as the sound score (Beethoven's 9th symphony stretched to 24 hours with no pitch distortion), a series of special performance events will be scattered throughout the museum building and grounds, with contributing artists offering up works related to the ancient idea of the "Music of the Spheres." During the 24 hours of music, various dancers/companies/artists will come and go, presenting a variety of visual offerings to be surrounded by this extraordinary music.

Tour

A docent-led, twenty-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm. The tour is free for Modern members and Star-Telegram Press Pass Holders. Admission to the galleries is $10, $4 for students and seniors, free for Modern members. On First Friday, gallery admission is free for Star-Telegram Press Pass Holders.

Learn with local artists as they lead free, informal basic drawing classes in the galleries. This class is open to adults at all skill levels. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Registration is not required, but a sign-in sheet is available at the information desk.
