Gallery Program

Two sessions of this free program are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk.

November 4—Fionn Meade is Senior Curator of Cross-Disciplinary Platforms and Acting Department Head of Visual Arts at the Walker Art Center, serves as faculty at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and the MFA program for Visual Arts at Columbia University, organizes extensive institutional and independent curatorial endeavors, and contributes to publications including Artforum, Bomb, Bidoun, The Fillip Review, Mousse, Modern Painters, Parkett, and Spike Art Quarterly, among others.

This program for families with young children is led by a docent and includes a gallery project designed by the Modern’s education department. Both the tour and project focus on selected works on view in the galleries. Registration is not required, but attendance is limited. A sign-up sheet is provided at the information desk the day of the program. Admission and supplies are free.
