FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and Spune Productions
Bring New Sounds to the Museum’s Auditorium
After the success of Balmorhea in concert at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on March 17, the Modern and Spune Productions are pleased to announce two additional presentations in the Museum’s auditorium. These concerts showcase the acoustically unique space with critically acclaimed bands. While the auditorium has been previously associated with classical music performances, it is perfectly suited to host the instrumentation of these accomplished musicians.

An Evening with The Books - Wednesday, April 6, 7:30 pm
The Books emerged in June 2002 with the release of their first album, Thought for Food, which received rave reviews throughout the independent music community and worldwide press. The band’s music usually consists of acoustic instrumentation of folk melodies played on a variety of instruments, including the guitar, cello, and banjo, combined with a diverse range of samples obtained from cassettes found in thrift stores that they digitally process and edit.
Seryn - Thursday, May 12, 7:30 pm
Seryn is a five-piece band from Denton, Texas, whose strengths reside in their vast musical talent, their understanding of instrumental dynamics, and their chilling harmonies. A 2010 performance at Saint David’s Church in Denton was described as “a perfect marriage of material and atmosphere.” (Andy Odom, Dallas Observer). Paste Magazine called Seryn their #1 out of 10 show at SXSW!
