Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Director's Council Announces
Benefit Auction of Contemporary Art
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Director's Council announces a benefit auction of contemporary art to take place at the Museum on Saturday, May 10 beginning at 6:30 pm. Artworks confirmed to date include donations from the following artists who have participated in museum programs over the last 25 years:
David Bates, Ed Blackburn, Dennis Blagg, Nigel Cooke, Rosson Crow, Teresita Fernández, Barnaby Furnas, Nancy Graves, Terry Haggerty, KAWS, Robert Lazzarini, Vera Lutter, Barry McGee, Cornelia Parker, Erik Parker, Katie Paterson, Ged Quinn, Hiraki Sawa, Ranjani Shettar, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Donald Sultan, Fred Tomaselli, Kehinde Wiley, Michael Zwack.
A preview of the auction items will be available on the Modern's website, www.themodern.org/modern-auction, by April 7.
Funds raised will benefit future acquisitions and programs for the Director's Council, including the FOCUS exhibition series. The event will feature a silent and live auction, DJ, and cocktail buffet. Admission to the event is by reservation only. The event and silent auction begin at 6:30 pm, and the live auction begins at 8:30 pm. Tickets are limited. Ticket prices for Modern members are $325 per person, and for the public are $425 per person. Please call 817.840.2115 to purchase.
Estimates for artworks currently range from $1,500 to $25,000. Auction advisory services and auctioneer provided by Heritage Auctions.

The Director's Council was formed in 1985 to assist the Museum with acquisitions. The Director's Council supports the FOCUS exhibition series, which presents three solo exhibitions organized each year by the Museum. One work from each series is purchased for the Modern's permanent collection.
