Chris Kelly’s Modern Cinema Festival

A.C.O.D.
  • October 3, 2013 - 7:00pm

The wonderful Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Friends with Kids) shines in this

comedy about Carter, a 30-something man coming to realize that—no joke—his parents’ divorce when he was a kid really messed him up. (The acronym of the title stands for “Adult Children of Divorce.”) Directed and co-written by Stuart Zicherman, making a sparkling debut, A.C.O.D. also features a delicious bunch of supporting bananas: Richard Jenkins and Catherine O’Hara as Carter’s divorced parents, Amy Poehler as his father’s latest wife, and Glee’s Jane Lynch as his not-entirely-legitimate childhood therapist.
