MODERN ART MUSEUM OF FORT WORTH
May 26–June 24, 2007
The Teen-Artist Project Exhibition, CLUSTER, will open on Saturday, May 26 and continue through Sunday, June 24 at Gallery 414, located at 414 Templeton in Fort Worth. CLUSTER is a group exhibition featuring works of 18 Metroplex students. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 2 from 6 to 9 pm. Gallery 414 is open from 12 to 5 pm on weekends and by appointment on weekdays. Admission is free.
The Teen-Artist Project is a Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth education program. Students from across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in grades 10 – 12 are invited to apply to the program in the fall of each year. A select group of students are chosen to participate in the program based on their artwork, answers to several essay questions, teacher recommendation, and phone interview.
Once selected, students spend Sunday afternoons from November through May working with area artists at the Modern. Each artist works with the student over a period of several weeks, using the museum’s current exhibition as a teaching tool and working with the students in the museum studio on related art projects. This year, the students had the opportunity to work with artists Jin-Ya Huang, Kirsten Macy, Matt Clark, and Mark Pease in a variety of different media.
CLUSTER includes work made during the program and will be on view May 26 through June 24.
