FIRST FRIDAYS AT THE MODERN: JUNE, JULY, AUGUST

The first Friday of each month, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and Café Modern team up to bring you live music and cocktails from 5 to 8 pm. Bring your friends to enjoy diverse live performances, cocktail selections, and the opportunity to dine in Café Modern by night. A docent-led, 20-minute spotlight tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm. The tour is free for Modern members and Star-Telegram Press Pass Holders. Make your reservations now for dinner, served from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Enjoy Café Modern favorites and featured specials created by Executive Chef Dena Peterson. For reservations, call 817.840.2174.

The Lonesome Utrillo is a detective story video made by artists Brian Fridge and Ed and
Linda Blackburn and based on a comic strip by Ed and Linda Blackburn. It follows the adventures of sign painter/private investigator Eddie Leon as he pursues masterpieces stolen from a museum. Live footage is combined with stills and drawings in this fresh take on a cinema tradition. Brian Fridge appears as Eddie Leon, and Fort Worth artists Rob Caslin and Ann Ekstrom also appear.
