Film Schedule
THE PAINTED VEIL
"The Painted Veil has the power and intimacy of a timeless love story. By all means, let it sweep you away." Peter Travers, Rolling Stone. Based on the novel by W. Somerset Maugham and set against the visually stunning backdrop of China during one of its most dramatic periods of upheaval the Painted Veil tells a unique love story of an estranged husband (Edward Norton) and wife (Naomi Watts) who find redemption and unexpected grace in a very unlikely place.
THE LIVES OF OTHERS
"Rather than dwell on the darkness, von Donnersmarck has fashioned a genuinely thrilling tale, leavened with sly humor that works ingenious variations on the theme of cat and mouse, speaks to current concerns about personal privacy and illuminates the timeless conflict between totalitarianism and art." Joe Morgenstern, The Wall Street Journal. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film this political thriller/human drama traces the gradual disillusionment of a highly skilled officer who works for the Stasi, East Germany’s all-powerful secret police.
VENUS
"O’Toole gives a staggering performance—fearless, defiantly untamed and in its own way a work of art." Peter Travers, Rolling Stone. Peter O’Toole received an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of a veteran actor whose world is turned upside down by a brash teenager.

A beautiful young woman from the provinces comes to Paris and lands a job as a waitress at a chic café on the Avenue Montaigne, the nexus for art, music, theater and fashion.

MAFIOSO
"A magnificent film almost no one knows about, this hidden classic offers a wider variety of pleasures than most contemporary works can even aspire to." Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times.
