The Modern’s unique programs for children emphasize learning through direct observation of art and thoughtful art activities inspired by the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Area artists, museum docents, and education staff design and lead these programs introducing children to some of the complex and challenging concepts and practices behind modern and contemporary art.
Drawing from the Collection for Children
This free program for children is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the collection.
A program for families with young children led by a docent which includes a gallery project and tour focusing on a few works in the collection.
