TOURS
Tours led by museum-trained docents provide
a dynamic experience based on close viewing,
education, and interaction. All tours are free
for Modern members and free to the public with
general admission to the galleries. All group
tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in
advance of the requested date. Groups with special
needs are welcome. For information or to schedule
a tour, please contact the Tour Coordinator at

Public Tours
Docent-led public tours are offered Tuesday
through Sunday at 2 pm. On Wednesdays, when gallery
admission is free to the public, tours are available
at 11 am and 2 pm. These tours do not require
prior arrangements and begin in the Museum lobby.
Group Tours of the Permanent
Collection
Docents are available to conduct tours of Selections from the Permanent Collection, installed throughout the second-floor galleries, in August and again throughout the first-floor galleries beginning in November. These tours can accommodate groups of 10 to 60 people and last approximately one hour.
Group Tours of Special Exhibitions
Docents are available to lead tours of Martin Puryear through May 18 and Kara Walker: My Complement, My Enemy, My Oppressor, My Love beginning July 5. Tours of these exhibitions can accommodate groups of 10 to 60 people and last approximately one hour. Groups touring both a special exhibition and the permanent collection can include as many as 120 people, with the tour lasting approximately one hour per exhibition.
Spanish-language Tours
Docent-led tours in Spanish are offered at 2
pm on the first Sunday of each month, when gallery
admission is free to the public, and begin in
the Museum lobby. These tours are open to the
public and do not require prior arrangements.
Docents are also available to conduct private
Spanish-language tours when reservations are
made at least two weeks in advance.
