Concern for Fort Worth arts coverage

I know, three posts in one day!

But this warrants some serious attention: I want to call your attention to a change in our local arts coverage in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. As you may have noticed in Sunday's paper, the Star-Telegram has eliminated the "Arts & Entertainment" section and fine arts coverage has been consolidated into the "Your Life" section. We have enjoyed such great support from the Star-Telegram and their generous coverage has been of vital importance to the success of our programs here at the Modern. Fort Worth has one of the most vibrant cultural scenes in the country and it is growing.

It is disconcerting to think that our hometown paper is limiting the ability to cover the arts instead of increasing it. If you feel compelled to voice your concern, you can contact:

Jim Witt, Managing Editor

Gary Wortel, Publisher

I know that the Fort Worth Arts Community has a strong voice and the Star-Telegram would love to hear our concerns, as well as encouraging the continuous coverage of the Arts.
