Two sessions of this free program are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. The extraordinary Russian cellist Misha Quint and superb pianist John Owings join forces in an exciting duo-recital featuring two masterpiece sonatas and several delightful show pieces.
Docents are available to lead tours of the Modern’s building, designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando. Group tours can accommodate 10 to 60 people and last approximately one hour; these tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the requested date. A public architecture tour is offered on the first Saturday of each month at 11 am.
A docent-led, twenty-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm. Admission to the galleries is $10, $4 for students and seniors, free for Modern members. On First Friday, gallery admission is free for Star-Telegram Press Pass Holders

The first Friday of each month, the Star-Telegram, the Modern, and Café Modern team up to bring you live music and drink specials in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm. Invite friends to enjoy unique cocktail selections, and the opportunity to dine at the Modern by night. Café Modern offers a full menu in the dining room and lighter fare in the Grand Lobby until 8 pm. A docent-led, 20-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm.
