Austin-based avant-garde collective Golden Dawn Arkestra makes their Fortress return, kicking off their Summer schedule Thursday, June 20th. Join them for a night of interstellar vibrations for children of the sun.
Seating is limited. Individual ticket prices are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
Golden Dawn Arkestra was started by Zapot Mgwana. They combine deep grooves and cinematic textures that Fortress fans know all too well. Remember when they rocked the inaugural Fortress Festival in 2017 at the water stage at The Modern? Now you can spend an intimate evening with the eclectic outfit.
Adorned in shimmering regal robes reminiscent of intergalactic kingdoms of yore and featuring cosmic go-go dancers, the Golden Dawn Arkestra will keep your body moving on the dance floor while raising your consciousness past the outer most reaches of the cosmos. Inspired to exuberance by ritualistic practices such as processions, chanting, and the power of the music itself, the audience fallas into spellbound frenzies when GDA takes the stage.
In 2018, Golden Dawn Arkestra played for the infamous NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert.
