“Sean Penn performs another one of his amazing transmogrification acts as the rock star Cheyenne in This Must Be the Place.” Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle. Cheyenne (Sean Penn), a 50-year-old former rock star, still dresses 'Goth' and lives in Dublin off his royalties. His father’s death brings him back to New York, where he discovers his father’s obsession with seeking revenge for a humiliation he suffered. Cheyenne decides to pick up where his father left off and starts a journey across America.
