Incorporating Scandinavian sound artist Leif Inge's mind-bending 9 Beet Stretch as the sound score (Beethoven's 9th symphony stretched to 24 hours with no pitch distortion), a series of special performance events will be scattered throughout the museum building and grounds, with contributing artists offering up works related to the ancient idea of the "Music of the Spheres." During the 24 hours of music, various dancers/companies/artists will come and go, presenting a variety of visual offerings to be surrounded by this extraordinary music.

Docents are available to lead a public tour of the Modern’s building, designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando, on the first Saturday of each month at 11 am. This tour does not require prior arrangements and is free with the price of admission.
Sundays with the Modern offers unique perspectives on the Museum’s architecture, permanent collection, and special exhibitions. Artists, art historians, critics, writers, and architects hold conversations and lead tours in the galleries. This special program is free and begins at 1 pm on the first Sunday of most months.
