Modern Interpretations

In this special program designed for people within the Deaf community, participants experience works of art at the Modern through intimate conversation with specially-trained docents and student-ASL interpreters. Offered the fourth Tuesday of each month, with limited space for participants at 10 am, each program lasts 90 minutes and includes a gallery activity. Please make reservations at least a week in advance by calling 817.840.2118. This free program includes admission to the galleries and all materials.

Architecture Tour

Docents are available to lead tours of the Modern’s building, designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando. Group tours can accommodate 10 to 60 people and last approximately one hour; these tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the requested date. A public architecture tour is offered on the first Saturday of each month at 11 am.

125th Anniversary Charter Day

10 am-5 pm
Free admission

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is the oldest art museum in Texas and one of the oldest museums in the western United States. The Modern was chartered on April 25,1892 as the Fort Worth Public Library and Art Gallery, but the name and mission have evolved over the years. The 25 women who founded the Public Library and Art Gallery sought to bring a different sort of culture to the historically cattle-focused city.

We celebrate our charter with free admission to the museum for the community.
