The Three Musketeers is a swaggering, tongue-in-cheek treatment of picturesque fiction, extravagantly presented.” —Variety

In 17th-century France, a provincial upstart cadet by the name of D’Artagnan (Gene Kelly) travels to Paris to join the fabled Musketeers. Striking up an indestructible friendship, D’Artagnan and the three soldiers find themselves involved in various political plots, and together must thwart the conspiracies as they fight for the honor of their beloved Queen Anne (Angela Lansbury). The film features a star-studded cast including June Allyson, Frank Morgan, Vincent Price, and Lana Turner.

The “My Favorite Films” series features tales of romance, humor, suspense, satire, and heroism with films since 1945. These films may hold special memories for you—no matter how many times you see them, they continue to draw you in once more. While many of these films are available through streaming, it's always more fun to see them in the theatre.

In July, Cowtown Movie Classics (CMC) teams up with My Favorite Films for a high flying, steel clashing celebration of cinema’s greatest sword fights. Join host Ryan Bijan for four action packed films where acrobatics, artistry, and iconic blade to blade battles take center stage.
