“Music is my connection to the world. It guides me to understand my place in relation to others and challenges me to make clear the things I do not understand. I imagine that music is a meeting place at which all people can converse about their unique differences and common stories.” – Jessie Montgomery

Haida artist Robert Davidson is one of the foremost cultural icons of the age. Haida Modern features candid and revealing conversations with the artist himself, along with commentary from art historians, politicians, musicians, and family members detailing the importance and impact of Davidson's work. Highlighted in these conversations is the story of how Davidson carved the first totem pole raised on the island of Haida Gwaii in over 100 years — a spiritual and political act credited with sparking a reawakening of Indigenous culture in the Pacific Northwest.

Alessandro Deljavan had been living “the sweet life” at the piano since he was three years old when he played his first recital. Years later he came to Fort Worth to compete in the 2009 and 2013 Cliburn International Piano Competition where he won the hearts of audiences and critics. This milestone appearance is his fourth with CMSFW. Alessandro Deljavan joins Gary Levinson, Dylan Narhoff, Michael Klotz, and Bion Tsang on CMSFW's second concert of its 36th season.
A public tour focused specifically on current special exhibitions is available at 2 pm on the second Saturday of each month. This tour does not require prior arrangements and begins in the Museum lobby.
