The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Offers Free Admission in Honor of the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) Art Museum Day, May 18, 2014.

Visitors to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will receive free admission to the Museum’s permanent collection and the special exhibition FOCUS: Rirkrit Tiravanija on Sunday, May 18 in honor of the Association of Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) Art Museum Day. The Museum will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. Museum guests can take advantage of an architecture tour at 11 am, a permanent collection tour at 2 pm, or visit with “Ask Me” docents stationed throughout the galleries between noon and 2 pm.

The Modern is a small part of the nearly 120 AAMD member museums across North America celebrating the annual event. AAMD’s Art Museum Day coincides with International Museum Day, which is organized every year around the world by the International Council of Museums. Scattered across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the AAMD member participants include smaller regional museums and leading international institutions. Their participation emphasizes the lasting impact art museums have on their communities and highlights the significance of visual art on society, while providing an array of opportunities for audiences to interact with the unique programs that art museums offer.
