Reflections on Ruscha and travels

As we say goodbye to Ed Ruscha's "Road Tested" exhibit, it's a good time to reflect upon the work that came out of Ruscha's time on the road and upon our own travels. TAP is on break until May 1st, so here are a couple of things for you guys to ponder during the break...

1. Documentary Book assignment #3:  What knowledge, memory or idea are you taking away from "Road Tested?" Respond using 3 to 5 words. Fill 2 or 3 pages of your book with these words and with accompanying images.

2. Take a look at Hamish Fulton's The Crow Speaks. Think about how Fulton records his journeys to the same place through this image. Reflect on The Crow Speaks and on your own travel experiences. You can pick a journey you've taken in the past or a journey you'll take over this upcoming break. Your reflection can be very literal: you got in the car, you went to a specific place, etc. Or your reflection can be more abstract like a memory or a metaphor. Post your responses here on the blog as comments.

For more information on The Crow Speaks, see the Tate Collection's website.

Happy trails to you!
