Threepenny Opera

A darkly comic new take on Brecht and Weill’s raucous musical broadcast live from the stage of the National Theatre. As London's East End scrubs up for the coronation, Mr. and Mrs. Peachum gear up for a bumper day in the beggary business. Keeping tight control of the city's underground—and their daughter’s whereabouts. Contains filthy language and immoral behaviour.

The running time is approx. 3 hours, with a 20 minute intermission.

As temperatures dip, the Modern heats up with an all-new First Fridays at the Modern experience. Explore KAWS: WHERE THE END STARTS with extended, late-night hours and live music by ISHI and Sudie. Café Modern offers a full menu in the dining room and lighter fare in the Grand Lobby until 9 pm. Admission is free for all Modern Contemporaries members. Non-member guests may attend for $10. Reservations are not required.

Holiday Cheer at Martin House Brewery

Toast the holiday season with Martin House beer and food truck fare. Sink your teeth into a collaborative art project designed by the minds driving Art Tooth, a new artist-run hybrid gallery dedicated to invigorating the local art scene. Team up with artists and fellow members during this casual event to create an outdoor art installation inspired by the current exhibition KAWS: WHERE THE END STARTS.

Wrap It Up in the Modern Shop

Modern members are invited to this annual shopping event, complete with live jazz, complimentary wine and light bites. Choose from merchandise featured exclusively for members, along with the opportunity to meet regional designers during this festive evening.  The event also includes a raffle for the chance to win a gift basket with an estimated value of $300.
