NYICFF Viva Kid Flicks celebrates the best Spanish-language short films from around the globe.
Challenging expectations and reflecting growth and resilience, NYICFF Kid Flicks Two is a fantastic trip on the road to growing up. Surprises in a dumpling bring good luck, and many reflections, in the beautiful stop-motion animation The Coin. In The One You Never Forget, a young teen tries to keep his first date under wraps, but his parents have other ideas. In Home Away 3000, a space traveler’s funky space van conks out on an unknown planet with plenty of surprises.

Each Drawing from the Collection for Children session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. The September session will be led by local artist Sheryl Anaya. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk.
Participants must wear a mask.

FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS! is a Saturday morning workshop for young art enthusiasts to gather virtually and discover new ideas for each FOCUS exhibition. A Modern educator uses real-time video-based instructions and demonstrations to explore each FOCUS artist’s ideas and artmaking techniques, such as painting, drawing, photography, collage, and small sculptures. Take advantage of the opportunity to share ideas with other like-minded young artists.
Virtual classroom space is limited to 10. Registration is required.
