Drawing from the Collection for Children

Each Drawing from the Collection for Children session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. The October session will be led by artist Michelle Justice. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk.

Hear and Now

At 65, Sally and Paul Taylor decided they wanted to hear their first symphonies, their children's voices, and talk on the phone. This fascinating, 85-minute documentary follows the couple's complex, moving journey from the silent world they knew to a new - and often profoundly challenging - world of sound.

Philip Guston, Slow Art

The aim of the Slow Art movement is to break with the often frenetic pace of modern life to simply enjoy works of art in a deliberate and unhurried fashion. Slow Art at the Modern invests in this pause with a 30-minute spotlight tour focusing on one work of art. Led by a Modern docent the November tour will focus on Philip Guston.
