Spring Break Wonders
Take advantage of family programming at the Modern over the course of the week while your school-aged children are on Spring Break. Each session is led by artist, Christopher Blay, and a docent and includes a gallery project designed by the education department. Both the tour and project focus on selected works in the Modern’s collection and the special exhibition, New Works by Ron Mueck. Attendance is limited to 45 children per session; admission is free.
March 12-15, 11 am and 2 pm
Clayton Hurt
Learn with local artists as they lead informal basic drawing classes in the galleries. This free class is open to adults at all skill levels—just bring a sketchbook and pencils. Registration is not required, but participants should sign in at the information desk. 2-3:30 pm
Michelle Justice and Lisa Huffaker
Two sessions of this free program are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. A sign-up sheet is located at the information desk. 2-3:30 pm
Steve Story Trio
Featuring live music with Steve Story Trio
The first Friday of each month, the Star-Telegram, the Modern, and Café Modern team up to bring you live music and drink specials in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm. Invite friends to enjoy unique cocktail selections, and the opportunity to dine at the Modern by night. Café Modern offers a full menu in the dining room and lighter fare in the Grand Lobby until 8 pm. A docent-led, 20-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm.
Tell Them We Are Rising
