Cowtown Movie Classics is celebrating The Year of the Snake at The Modern with Bruce Lee in The Big Boss (1971). Known to Western audiences as Fists of Fury, this seminal Hong Kong action film firmly established Bruce Lee as an iconic leading man and made its production company, Golden Harvest, a force to be reckoned with in the Asian film industry.
Legendary martial artist Bruce Lee plays Chao-an, a young pacifist who moves to Thailand to work as a laborer in an ice factory. When the factory turns out to be a front for a powerful drug cartel, Chao-an must renounce his vows and go head-to-head with the Big Boss himself.
This special screening will be accompanied by a newly recorded video discussion with actor and martial artist Jay Tavare (Street Fighter, Cold Mountain, Adaptation.)
Tickets for this special screening are $5 (FREE for Modern members) and are available at the museum’s admission desk or to buy online here.
