Charles (John Heard) is a bored civil servant struggling through a harsh Utah winter. He spends most of his time reflecting on his romance with Laura (Mary Beth Hurt), a coworker who left him to return to her husband, Jim (Mark Metcalf). This comic drama of obsession and romance is based on Ann Beattie’s novel of the same name.

The Fort Worth Film Club (FWFC) partnered in 2022 with the Reel House Foundation after the closing of Fort Worth’s lone art house theater, the Grand Berry Theater. Continuing what the Grand Berry started, FWFC's goal is to build a community in Fort Worth around a shared love of film. The Club hosts free monthly screenings, focusing on films with cultural and local importance. Screenings are open to the public and are followed by a moderated discussion.
