“The Old Man & the Gun generally feels like the best kind of tribute, one that understands the material so well that it inhabits its very essence.” —Eric Kohn, IndieWire
This film is based on the true story of Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford), tracing his audacious escape from San Quentin prison at the age of 70 and an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public. Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt (Casey Affleck), who becomes captivated with Tucker's commitment to his craft, and the woman (Sissy Spacek) who loves him in spite of his chosen profession.
