ROY G BIV, 2022/2025, the special exhibition’s only video, directly explores the performative act and art-historical legacy of painting. At intervals throughout the exhibition, the cubic structure that houses the video is regularly repainted, each time in a different hue from the rainbow color spectrum: ROYGBIV stands for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Sounds Modern presents The Ear of the Whale

In conjunction with the special exhibition Alex Da Corte: The Whale, Sounds Modern presents music which directly refers to popular and historical works. Like the ephemeral source materials referenced in Da Corte’s paintings, these compositions make evident how the things we identify with—or use to define us—evolve over time.
The New Music Ensemble program at TCU focuses on performing repertoire that ranges from early 20th century classic works to newly-written music by contemporary composers. This performance is free and open to the public.
