Fort Worth Opera presents Opera Overture, Portrait of a Silenced Saint

Fort Worth Opera presents an Opera Overture: "Portrait
of a Silenced Saint," a special evening of music and
insight introducing the 2014 Fort Worth Opera Festival
professional world premiere of With Blood, With Ink.
In a discussion moderated by KERA's Jerome Weeks,
With Blood, With Ink composer Daniel Crozier and
librettist Peter M. Krask, together with FWOpera
General Director Darren K. Woods will offer their
perspective on the remarkable Mexican theologian,
poetess, and nun Sor (Sister) Juana Inéz de la Cruz,
as well as the opera's important message of women's
rights and equality. Selections from the opera will
be performed by members of the FWOpera Studio,
and guests are invited to participate in an exclusive
Q & A session with the panelists. The evening will
also include a reception and a performance by the
colorful Ballet Folklorico troupe Sol de Fort Worth.
