The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth will present the Arianna Quartet with special guest violist, Richard Young in concert on Saturday,November 12, 2016 in the auditorium of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The concert will begin at 2:00 pm and will be preceded by the highly popular Pre-Concert Conversation with Laurie Shulman and Gary Levinson beginning at 1:15 pm also in the auditorium.

About the Artists
The Arianna Quartet has been in-residence at the University of Missouri-St. Louis since 2000.  They are also Ensemble-in-Residence at the Touhill Performing Arts Center in St. Louis where they present their own concert series. Hailed for their outstanding musicianship, the Arianna String Quartet has firmly established itself as one of America’s finest chamber ensembles.  Their performances have been praised for “tonal warmth, fastidious balance…expressive vitality”  Chicago Tribune  and “emotional commitment and fluent virtuosity,”  Pretoria News, South Africa.  They have appeared throught North America, South America, Europe and Asia, and have collaborated with many of the world’s finest musicians including members of the Vermeer, Tokyo, Cleveland and Juilliard Quartets.  As recording artists they received critcal acclaim for the recent release of two string quartets of Janácek.  “These performances of the Arianna String Quartet demonstrate how technial excellence in alliance with imagination and the human heart, can come to create something truly transcendent.”  Fanfare Magazin

Violist Richard Young returns after a highly praised performance on the September 17, 2016 concert by CMSFW.  Of this concert it was written “ Among the string players, one special moment was a lovely episode…played by Young on the viola”  Star-Telegram.  From 1985 til the quartet retired, Young was a member of the renowned Vermeer String Quartet.
