Curious about the dark side? Will love overcome hate? Who are the heroes and who are the monsters? Can the mysteries of life ever be solved?
Expect the unexpected when Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth (CD/FW) presents the eighteenth Modern Dance Festival at the Modern, featuring an interdisciplinary collage of art forms and ideas performed “live” and projected on screen in the museum’s auditorium.
Come take an eclectic and sometimes comical journey with dance artists and their collaborators as they premiere works that respond to the Modern’s exhibition of paintings by Alex Da Corte and the psychological concept of the whale in Jungian psychology.
Artistic Director Kerry Kreiman’s new dance theatre work, “Flat Rat,” will honor past CD/FW collaborators by including select costumes designed by the late Crickett Pettigrew, the company’s longtime costume designer, and photos by the late Milton Adams, the company’s photographer.
Following the performance, the artists will participate in a Q&A session with the audience.
