Timeless Concerts: Music of the Spanish Language

Music of the Spanish language!

Timeless Concerts presents an afternoon of music inspired by the Spanish language and the rich cultural landscapes of Spain.

Experience the drama and beauty of Joaquín Turina’s Scène Andalouse, a vibrant work for piano quintet and viola solo that evokes the Spanish region of Andalusia, known for flamenco, tapas, and sweeping landscapes that range from mountains to beaches. Guest artist Rachel McDonald brings the virtuosic viola solo to life in this evocative centerpiece.

The program features violinists LeeAnne Chenoweth and Keyreel Raskolenko, violist Claire Ross, cellist Alice Jeong-A Lee, and pianist Heejung Kang, with additional music by Enrique Granados and Juan C. Arriaga. Soprano Youna Hartgraves and tenor Sergio Cepeda complete the afternoon with selections sung in Spanish.

After the performance, guests are invited to gather with the artists in the Grand Lobby. Drinks will be available for purchase at Café Modern. Throughout 2026, Timeless Concerts performances will alternate between the Modern and the Holt Hickman Center.
