Teen and Adult Studio with artists Dan Lian and Kris Pierce

Thursdays 6-9 pm, November 7-December 12 and January 9-30 (no class holiday weeks)

This class will focus on the works in the Modern’s special exhibition Robyn O’Neil: WE, THE MASSES. O’Neil has created intricate, imagined worlds exploring themes of evolution, natural catastrophe, the apocalypse, and the beauty of nature. For the first four sessions, artist Dan Lian will lead participants in learning detailed drawing skills, including plein air drawing at dusk on the Modern’s grounds, and evolving storytelling at epic proportions. For the last four sessions, guest artist Kris Pierce will lead participants through the continued development of their earlier drawings and narratives and using those drawings as content for new animations and video works.
