Teen/Adult Two-Day Studio Class
Saturdays, November 7 & 14, 11 am–3 pm, with a one-hour lunch break

This virtual class will focus on the works in the Modern’s special exhibition Mark Bradford: End Papers. Bradford’s End Paper works not only allowed him to make beautiful abstract paintings but inspired the artist’s use of “social papers” that relate to his biography and his neighborhood. He began using merchant posters, broadsides, and even billboards he found in Los Angeles to make his paintings. For this class, guest artist Tino Ward will lead participants in learning how to recycle found paper from their homes into handmade paper works and objects. We will focus on 2-dimensional works with found paper for the first half of the class and on sculptural works the following Saturday.
