The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s Teen/Artist Project (TAP) is an ongoing program in which regional and national teaching artists expand the knowledge of art, analysis, and techniques for young, aspiring artists.

Fifteen high school students are accepted each year through a portfolio review and application process. This two-semester course meets from 2 to 5 pm each Sunday at the Modern. Students develop a personal, lasting relationship with the Museum’s art and architecture through close and continuous investigations. A variety of visiting artists design studio workshops, gallery tours, and related lectures in sections that span one to four weeks.

Typically, the Teen/Artist Project meets in the Education Department studios at the Modern on Sundays, but due to COVID-19, the museum will not be hosting any on-site programs until 2021. For the first half of the 2020-2021 season, students will work remotely with visiting artists Carol Zou, Riso Bar, Gerald Cyrus, Raul Rodriguez and Deep Red Press, Jessi Jones, and others.
