Visiting the work of Nina Chanel Abney

This program for children between the ages of 9 and 12 takes a closer look at the contemporary art in this season's FOCUS exhibition featuring the work of artist Nina Chanel Abney. Each class spends time in the galleries looking and talking about the work before proceeding to the studio for an art activity and further discussion. This session will be led by artist, Christopher Blay. Sign up early; space is limited.

Kid Zine Competition

25 Pages Zine Competition!

Artists Randy Guthmiller, Shasta Haubrich, and Lisa Huffaker challenge kids to design zine pages in response to works in the Modern’s collection. There will be a frenzy of art materials and competitive energy! Children can scan and submit their designs for consideration for the Modern’s fifth edition of 25 Pages, which will be available to kids visiting the Modern in the new year. This program is FREE and open to children of all ages. All materials are provided.

The Modern Lights

For the first time in its history, the Modern will be illuminated with a spectacular array of festive lights in celebration of the holiday season and in honor of the Museum’s 125th Anniversary
Lights will be illuminated, nightly, from 5 pm to midnight.
