Internships

2022-2023 Interns

The education department at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is pleased to announce four high school student internships for the Fall and Spring of 2023-2024. The internships are available to students from high schools currently involved with the Modern’s education department through Repeat Visit Programs and Modern Collaborative Studies.

Each internship is a paid position developed to be flexible and adaptive to the responsibilities and schedules of high school students.

The goal of these internships is to provide professional work experience, academic credit, and an overall feel for how education departments operate in a modern and contemporary art museum. Education department staff will provide mentorship, assistance in developing hard and soft skills, and a collaborative professional environment for projects, programs, and events.

Interns will assist in day-to-day tasks, such as clerical duties and research, with the goal of increased responsibility as time goes by. Each internship will be in collaboration with the Curator of Education or an Assistant Curator of Education:

Terri Thornton, Curator of Education
Michael Moore, Assistant Curator of Education, Docent Programs
Jesse Morgan Barnett, Assistant Curator of Education, Academic Programs
Tiffany Wolf Smith, Assistant Curator of Education, Public Programs

Maria Barrientos, Tour and Docent Administrator

Each position will be tailored to the specific roles and responsibilities of the individual supervisors.
The internship is from September to May 2023-2024, with a commitment of 10 hours per week.

Please submit your application by August 21, 2023. Link to APPLICATION
