From the Vault Benefit Auction

The Modern is hosting a benefit auction of deaccessioned artwork from the vault. The more than 200 items purchased by or donated to the Museum no longer fall within the parameters of the Modern’s collection as determined through extensive review by curatorial staff and with approval by the Board of Directors. The auction includes a variety of art and artifacts such as works on paper, paintings, and sculpture. Estimates for artworks range from $150 to $5,000.

Proceeds from the sale of items will benefit the Modern’s acquisitions fund for future artwork purchases.Click here to view a list of items to be included in the auction (subject to change).

Preview – Saturday, January 23; 10 am–5 pm
$10, or included with purchase of an auction ticket

Reception and Auction – Sunday, January 24; 4:30–7 pm
$125 per person, $100 of ticket price redeemable toward art purchase

Modern staff and board members may not directly purchase artwork due to accreditation requirements.
