It's the 20th anniversary release of ShortsTV proudly bringing the Oscar® Nominated Short Films to audiences across the globe. In partnership with Magnolia Pictures, two categories are offered at the Modern: Animated and Live-Action. This is your annual chance to predict the winners (and have the edge in your Oscar pool)! A perennial hit with audiences around the country and the world, don’t miss this year’s selection of shorts. The Academy Awards take place Sunday, March 2.

Rose (Françoise Fabian), 78 years old, has just lost her adored husband. When her grief gives way to a powerful impulse to live, she realizes that she can still redefine herself as a woman. In doing so, the whole balance of her family is upset.

In the Moment at the Modern

Second Thursdays, 10-11:30 am

A special program for people with memory loss and their care partners, In the Moment is a partnership between the Modern and the Alzheimer’s Association of North Central Texas. Every month, participants experience works of art at the museum through intimate conversations with docents and thoughtful projects designed by the Modern’s education staff. The program takes place from 10 am to 11:30 am on select Thursdays, once a month, with space available for 20 participants.

Alex Da Corte: Cadavre Exquis

The Exhibition Lecture Series is a dynamic new program featuring curators and artists from the Modern’s special exhibitions and permanent collection. This series provides a rare opportunity to explore the creative processes, curatorial strategies, and artistic visions that shape modern and contemporary art. The Exhibition Lecture Series is a free program open to the public.

Feeling Color: Aubrey Williams and Frank Bowling Opening Reception

Contributor ($600) level members and above

In honor of the artists and exhibition, Feeling Color: Aubrey Williams and Frank Bowling, Modern members at the Contributor ($600) level and above are invited to enjoy cocktails, light bites, and a first look at the exhibition.

Alex Da Corte: The Whale Members’ Preview Party

Associate ($150) level members and above
March 1; 6–8 pm

Members are invited to celebrate the opening of Alex Da Corte: The Whale at this exclusive after-hours event, featuring live music by DJ WONDEROSSO, access to the new exhibition, and complimentary beer, wine, and light bites.

Reservations are $20 per person for members at the Associate ($150) and Advocate ($240) levels. Modern Docents receive complimentary admission for two adults. Members at the Contributor ($600) level and above receive four complimentary reservations.
 

Alex Da Corte: The Whale Opening Dinner

Donor’s Circle ($2,500) level members and above

In honor of the artist and exhibition Alex Da Corte: The Whale, Modern members at the Donor’s Circle ($2,500) level and above are invited to enjoy cocktails, dinner, and an immersive preview of the exhibition.
