Two sessions of this free program are offered, one for ages 5 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12. Each session is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the Modern’s galleries. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils. Attendance is limited, so early arrival is encouraged. The InnerCity Drilling Blues Coalition is hosting 'A Day at the Modern with Jon Bowermaster, featuring his new film, Dear President Obama | The Clean Air Revolution in NOW' on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 7 pm at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The doors will open at 5 pm for a reception and panel discussion with locals who have experienced the impact of drilling in innercity neighborhoods. The film will also highlight Texas Fractvists Reverend Kyev Tatum of Fort Worth and Sharon Wilson of Denton and others who live in the heart of the Barnett Shale drilling expedition.

Artist Frank Stella took great inspiration in the life and work of Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757). Sounds Modern takes its inspiration from modern composers inspired by Scarlatti (and/or Stella).
This program includes works by Franco Donatoni, Salvatore Sciarrino, Aldo Clementi, and Javier Jacinto, among others.
