Jacaranda Guitar Ensemble

In conjunction with Mexico: Inside Out: Themes in Art Since 1990, the Jacaranda Guitar Ensemble will play the music of contemporary Mexican composer Ernesto García de León. De Leon from Veracruz, Mexico currently lives in Mexico City where he teaches at UNAM. His improvisational style of writing reflects the spontaneity  in today's world while his musical melodies and rhythms are distinctly Mexican. The program will consist of solos, duos and a guitar quartet.

Newton and Helen Harrison, a collaborative team often referred to simply as “the Harrisons,” are among the leading pioneers of the eco-art movement. They have worked for almost 40 years with biologists, ecologists, architects, urban planners, and other artists to collectively initiate promising dialogue to uncover ideas and solutions which support biodiversity and community development.
